Hawthorn Bridge Concreting Project – Structural Concrete Works for Culvert Construction

PSI Pavements delivered high-quality concreting services for the Hawthorn Bridge project in South Australia, supporting both motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Our team was responsible for constructing a durable concrete base for the bridge culvert, forming the foundation of the waterway structure.

During the bridge construction process, the water channel was temporarily blocked to safely install heavy-duty steel reinforcement and an initial blinding concrete layer, followed by a precision finishing layer of 50MPa high-strength concrete – used for its durability for demanding civil and commercial projects. 

The completed Hawthorn Bridge culvert now provides a permanent reinforced concrete structure beneath the bridge, allowing for the efficient and controlled flow of water while maintaining stability for road and pedestrian use.
